Nidec Introduces ACBOX V4 and UniQube at Intersolar Europe 2026
Next-generation platforms for energy storage, power conversion, and grid resilience
- ACBOX V4 is a complete utility-scale energy storage solution (BESS), that combines Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) batteries, distributed power conversion, and integrated grid-forming capabilities in a compact, scalable architecture designed to support grid stability and accelerate renewable energy deployment.
- UniQube, Nidec’s new high-density Power Conversion System (PCS), makes its debut at Intersolar Europe 2026, delivering greater power density, flexibility, and scalability for utility-scale battery energy storage and renewable energy applications.
- Together, ACBOX V4 and UniQube reinforce Nidec’s strategy to deliver integrated, future-ready energy infrastructure solutions that help customers improve reliability, optimize performance, and accelerate the energy transition.
Munich, Germany – June 22, 2026 – As global demand for energy storage, renewable integration, and grid resiliency continues to accelerate, Nidec Conversion, a business segment of Nidec, and a leading provider of power conversion and energy storage solutions will unveil two next-generation platforms at Intersolar Europe 2026: ACBOX V4 and UniQube.
The launch represents a significant step in Nidec’s strategy to help utilities, developers, and industrial customers build more efficient, reliable, and scalable energy infrastructure. Together, the platforms address some of the industry’s most pressing challenges, including increasing renewable energy penetration, grid stability requirements, and the need to maximize performance while reducing project footprint and lifecycle costs.
“The future of energy depends on technologies that can seamlessly integrate renewable generation, energy storage, and grid stability at scale,” said Dominique Llonch, President of Nidec Motion & Energy. “ACBOX V4 and UniQube reflect our commitment to delivering innovative solutions that help customers build more resilient, efficient, and future-ready energy systems. As electrification accelerates worldwide, Nidec is uniquely positioned to support customers with the technologies, expertise, and global scale needed to navigate the energy transition.”
UniQube is Nidec Conversion’s new PCS platform that is manufactured in Europe and is designed specifically for long-duration battery energy storage systems (2–8 hours) and advanced renewable energy integration. At Intersolar Europe, Nidec Conversion will showcase a fully integrated configuration featuring two UniQube PCS units a Ring Main Unit and a MV Transformer with a total power of 10 MVA (5 MVA per PCS).
Built on a liquid-cooled IGBT architecture, UniQube supports photovoltaic and hydrogen applications up to 1500V today and has been engineered to support future market evolution toward 2000V systems. Designed for outdoor installation, the platform stands out for its high-power density, which allows for a reduction in the overall footprint of the system. Furthermore, the design flexibility of this technology enables greater adaptability to different system requirements, ensuring high performance, efficiency and cost optimization, while also supporting its application across multiple sectors.
A flagship solution from Nidec Conversion’s Energy Systems portfolio, ACBOX V4 represents the latest evolution of the company’s integrated BESS AC Block architecture. Developed and assembled in Europe, ACBOX V4 combines advanced power conversion technology, cybersecurity-by-design, and a transparent supply chain in compliance with the highest European standards. The platform is designed to provide customers with a highly reliable and bankable solution while supporting increasingly complex grid requirements.
The innovative architecture introduces a new distributed power conversion solution based on silicon carbide (SiC) semiconductors. ACBOX V4 delivers improved efficiency, higher availability, and greater granularity in energy management. Its optimized internal design reduces the system footprint for utility-scale deployments. ACBOX V4 features native grid-forming capabilities that support grid stability, strengthen network resilience and enable higher levels of renewable energy integration.
As the energy landscape evolves, customers increasingly require partners that can deliver more than individual components. Through its integrated approach spanning power conversion, energy storage, controls, and system integration, Nidec Conversion is helping customers deploy energy infrastructure that is reliable, scalable, and built for long-term performance. With ACBOX V4 and UniQube, Nidec Conversion continues to expand its portfolio of solutions that support utility-scale energy storage, renewable integration, electrification, and grid modernization, strengthening its position as a trusted partner in the global energy transition.
Nidec Conversion will exhibit at Booth B2.230, where visitors can explore the company’s dedicated 160-square-meter exhibit and experience a full-scale PCS installation demonstrating its latest energy storage and power conversion technologies in action.
