Nidec Conversion commences work with JET to accelerate the EV transition in the UK

The Company will roll-out its state-of-the-art EV charging solutions across JET branded forecourts, providing vital infrastructure to drive the shift to electric vehicles
London, April 15th, 2025 – Nidec Conversion (“Nidec”), an international provider of power conversion solutions for energy, mobility and the environment, is pleased to announce it is working with JET, the retail arm of leading energy provider Phillips 66 Limited, to offer EV chargers across the UK.
The new project will involve the roll-out of Nidec EV chargers with Battery (DirectPowerPS DC Multi) across JET branded forecourts. The first installation has already been completed at Brentford Services with other sites scheduled for roll-out throughout 2025.
The project, which will see Nidec’s state-of-the-art EV charging technology power JET Charge – JET’s own-brand and ultra-rapid charging proposition – fits seamlessly with JET’s strategy to diversify and evolve its offering and meet the increased demand for accessible EV infrastructure in the UK. JET Charge, which began rolling out in 2024, features ultra-rapid EV chargers up to 400kW. With the specific aim of streamlining the motorist experience, it operates a pay-as-you-go pricing model with no minimum spend and does not require an app or a subscription.
Nidec’s advanced solutions will enhance JET’s EV charging offering across the UK, enabling the delivery of safe and reliable EV charging experiences to customers. The project further strengthens Nidec’s positioning in the UK EV charging market, expanding its national footprint whilst providing the infrastructure necessary to support the 2035 zero emission vehicle goal set by the UK government.
Helroy Tauro, Country Leader – UK&I, Nidec Conversion, commented: “We are excited to partner with JET to deliver reliable, fast, and accessible EV charging across the UK, supporting the nation’s shift to sustainable transport. Together, we are advancing the UK’s EV transition and building a greener future.”
Steve Jackson, Business Development Lead at Phillips 66 Ltd, said: “JET is a driver-first brand, committed to offering a first-class service to all drivers. We are happy to be working with Nidec to implement our EV offer.”
